Josh Mal, the dream was always to become a successful tech entrepreneur.
In 2008, his family helped him get his start in tech, sparking a sense of purpose that consumed his life.
His hard work and dedication led him to start his first company in 2011, which has since grown to over 1,000 employees and is valued at over $1 billion.
Despite the success, Josh experienced his first bout of burnout in 2015, which led him to therapy, meditation, and yoga.
Armed with these new tools, he felt ready to tackle his next venture and went on to found another company—later sold for $200 million—during the global pandemic.
However, returning to a fear-based culture, combined with isolation from his team and a growing disconnect between his head and heart, led to severe burnout in 2022. This experience became a powerful teacher and the catalyst for Josh’s next venture: Brake.
